The Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment with the Mediating Role of Work Engagement at Ghalib University

Transformational leadership is a new approach to leadership that creates satisfaction, trust and commitment among the employees, it has the ability to motivate employees to strive beyond expectations and lead to their better performance. The main purpose of this research is to study the Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment with the Mediating Role of Work Engagement at Ghalib University. The statistical population of this study consists of all employees of Ghalib University, including 260 people, 152 of whom were selected as the statistical sample of the study by stratified sampling method. The sampling method of the present study is applied and correlational. For collecting the data, standard questionnaires of transformational leadership, organizational commitment and organizational culture were used, the validity of which was confirmed by content method and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach Alpha Coefficient. Descriptive statistics were used to draw table and graphs, regression and structural equations were used to test the hypothesis, SPSS and AMOS software were used to analyze the data. The findings of the present study indicate that there is a significant relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment and work engagement has a significant mediating role between transformational leadership and organizational commitment. In addition, the research has shown that work engagement has a mediating role in the relationship between transformational leadership (inspirational motivation, ideal influence, Inspirational motivation, individual considerations) and organizational commitment (continuous commitment, emotional commitment, normative commitment).
