Study of the Relationship between Quality of Work Life and Job Performance with the Moderator Role of Organizational vitality in Herat and Kabul-Ghalib Universities

The quality of work life has a significant impact on employees’ job performance. The necessary organizational attention in this sector improves the job performance of employees and leads to the organizational excellence. Organizational vitality plays a fundamental role in creating a desirable quality of work life in the organization and improving job performance. The main aim of this study is to study the relationship between quality of work life and job performance with the moderating role of organizational vitality in Ghalib universities of Herat and Kabul. The research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of nature and method. The statistical population of this study consisted of the staff of the universities of Herat and Kabul provinces whose number included 350 individuals using a simple random sampling method, and based on Morgan’s table, 183 individuals were selected. In order to collect information, two methods of library and field were used. The research instruments included Patterson (1992) Job Performance Questionnaire, Krollf (2007) Organizational Vitality Questionnaire, and Stone's Quality of Work Life Questionnaire (1998). The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient in which all coefficients were higher than 0.7 showing acceptability. The results showed that there is a meaningful relationship between quality of work life and job performance and the first main hypothesis was confirmed. Also, according to the results, it was found that organizational vitality mediates the relationship between quality of work life and job performance.
