Types of Phrases in Rowzatul Jannat Fe Awsaf-e-Madina-e-Herat

Abstract

One of the most key surviving works from the 9th century is Rozat al-Janat book by Moinuddin Zamchi Esfzari that is written in the history and geography of Herat and other cities of Khorasan. Knowing the works of the past requires its analysis from various aspects, especially stylistics. With the science of stylistics, it is possible to examine the important stylistic feature of a work and to achieve the linguistic highlights of the text. This article was formed with the aim of finding an answer to the question: What types of phrases are there in Ruzat al-Janat? This research is based on the objective, fundamental-applied, based on the method of data collection, library and based on the criticism of the materials, it has benefited from the viewpoints of layered stylistics and the materials have been presented in an analytical-descriptive manner. The findings of the research show that: noun phrases, antecedents, past tenses, phrases with a determining letter, present and adverbial phrases are used with different frequencies in the text of Rozat al-Janat. The low use of metaphorical expression and the non-use of metaphorical expression show that the text of Rouzat al-Janat has a low literary aspect and the author's attention was more to conveying the meaning.
